1996년 대만에서 나온 DOS용 롤플레잉 게임. 개발사는 소프트 월드(soft world)라는 영어 명칭으로 잘 알려진 지관이 맡았다. 국내에서는 소프트 월드로 소개되었으며, 이미 같은 제작사에서 만든 게임 의천도룡기가 출시되어 큰 인기를 쳤었기 때문에 그 후속작인 양 '의천도룡기 외전'이라는 이름을 붙였다
