1994년에 일본의 이미지니어에서 개발하고 에닉스에서 발매한 전략 시뮬레이션 게임. 2020년 현재는 고전게임으로 분류된다. 높은 자유도와 엄청난 게임성, 적절한 난이도까지 명작 게임으로 추앙받는다. 당시로서도 굉장히 유명했으나 후에 손노리에서 강철제국이라는 이 게임의 표절작을 만들어서 더 유명해진 게임이다.
